David Bowie: The Hearts Filthy Lesson

(Heart's filthy lesson)
There's always the Diamond friendly
Sitting in the Laugh Motel
The Heart's filthy lesson
With her hundred miles to hell

Oh, Ramona - if there was only something between us
If there was only something between us
Other than our clothes
Something in our skies
Something in our skies
Something in our blood
Something in our skies
Paddy, Paddy
Who's been wearing Miranda's clothes?

It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Heart's filthy lesson
Heart's filthy lesson
Falls upon deaf ears
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Heart's filthy lesson
Heart's filthy lesson
Falls upon deaf ears
Falls upon dead ears

(Heart's filthy lesson)
Oh Ramona, if there was only some kind of future [x2]
And these cerulean skies
Something in our skies [x2]
Something in our blood
Something in our skies

Paddy, Paddy?
Paddy oh Paddy,
I think I've lost my way
(Heart's filthy lesson, Heart's filthy lesson)
I'm already five years older I'm already in my grave
(Heart's filthy lesson, Heart's filthy lesson)
I'm already (x3)
(Heart's filthy lesson, Heart's filthy lesson)
Will you carry me?
Oh Paddy, I think I've lost my way
Paddy, what a fantastic death abyss (2)
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson

Tell the others
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Paddy,
What a fantastic death abyss
Tell the others
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Paddy,
what a fantasic death abyss
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Tell the others

Wikipedia: The Hearts Filthy Lesson
"The Hearts Filthy Lesson" is a song by David Bowie, from his 1995 album Outside... The lack of an apostrophe in the title is deliberate... Critical reception to the song was generally tepid, though it would be re-evaluated by many critics when heard in the context of the Outside soon afterwards. Considering its defiantly noncommercial sound, the song did well to reach UK No. 35, also breaking Bowie's US chart drought (which stretched back to "Never Let Me Down" in 1987) by briefly peaking at US No. 92. An immediate favourite at Bowie's live concerts, "The Hearts Filthy Lesson" had its cult status sealed when it was featured over the closing titles of David Fincher's 1995 film Se7en, a film which mirrored the video's grimy visuals.

Music video
The video featured a montage of art-style mutilations and gory objets d'art and was subsequently edited when shown on MTV. The clip was directed by Samuel Bayer, the man behind Nirvana's classic "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video.

Outside is a concept album first released 26 September 1995 by David Bowie on Virgin Records, and Bowie's nineteenth studio album.
